What is Platysma Bands / Neck Lift?
Platysma bands are the vertical cords that become visible down the front of the neck, particularly when talking or tensing. The treatment, often called the Nefertiti lift, relaxes these bands and the downward-pulling fibres along the jaw, softening the neck and sharpening the jawline definition.
How does Platysma Bands / Neck Lift treatment work?
The platysma is a broad, thin sheet of muscle running from the chest up over the jaw. As it tightens with age it pulls the lower face downward and its edges stand out as cords. Botulinum toxin is placed along each band and, where appropriate, just beneath the jawline. Relaxing these downward pulls allows the lifting muscles of the face to dominate, so the jaw looks cleaner and the neck smoother.
