What is Peri-oral Lines / Lip Flip?
This treatment uses very small doses of botulinum toxin around the mouth to soften the fine vertical lines above the upper lip, and to gently roll the lip border outward, the effect known as a lip flip. It creates the impression of a slightly fuller upper lip without adding any volume, which makes it a good option if you want a subtle change or are not ready for filler.
How does Peri-oral Lines / Lip Flip treatment work?
The orbicularis oris is a circular muscle around the mouth. Relaxing its uppermost fibres reduces the pursing action that etches vertical lines into the skin, and allows the upper lip to evert slightly so more of the pink lip shows when you smile. Dosing here must be conservative and symmetrical, because this muscle is essential for speech, drinking and expression.
